Suham Received a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Education from Al- Mustansariya University in Iraq. She worked as a teacher in Baghdad before leaving for the United States to obtain a graduate degree in Education and Psychology from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. Suham has extensive experience working directly with communities dealing with crises; both in Iraq and in the United States.  She has trained hundreds of adults in advocacy, team work, conflict management and communications skills. She has also taught five different college level courses.
