Friends of Democracy

Based in Baghdad, Frieds of Democracy was founded in 2004 to promote democratic values and free speech in Iraq. Its activities included grassroots training on the constitution (2004-2005), the creation of an Arabic blogging community with thousands of members (2004); and since 2006, university and grassroots outreach for the Pledge for Iraq (Ahd al-Iraq), a nationwide campaign to promote human rights values (www.ahdaliraq.net). CLIME provides Friends of Democracy with advocacy campaign skills training and materials.

Interaction Forum

The Interaction Forum is an independent non-for-profit development firm dedicated to advancing means of freedom of expression; support the democratization process in Jordan and the Arab World, and conducting Arab-Israeli peace-building projects in the Middle East.

 

The Iraq Foundation

The Iraq Foundation is working for democracy and human rights in Iraq, and for a better  international understanding of Iraq's potential as a contributor to political stability and economic progress in the Middle East.

 

The Tharwa Foundation

The Tharwa Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission of providing a supportive environment for democratic principles and practices to flourish in the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Tharwa’s 'online home' is currently found on the "Tharwa Community" homepage –  the Community is a unique portal for Tharwa's citizen journalists, who form a diverse network of liberal activist voices reporting daily on human rights issues and political developments in Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco and Yemen.

CLIME has partnered with the Tharwa Foundation to launch the Tharwa Institute for Democratic Leadership for young intellectuals and activists in the MENA region to address theories and concepts of democracy and authoritarianism, political transitions, leadership, and civil society activism.

 

      
     


Women's Alliance for a Democratic Iraq

The Women’s Alliance for a Democratic Iraq is a non-partisan women’s rights organization that was created to serve as a bridge between women in Iraq and their Iraqi sisters living in the United States.CLIME has provided WAFDI with communications skills training and assistance in efforts to lobby American policy makers to protect women’s rights in Iraq.
